Australian Financial Adviser Banned for $14.8 Million Crypto Scam
Glenda Maree Rogan, an Australian financial adviser, has been barred from providing financial services for a decade following her involvement in a cryptocurrency investment scam that siphoned at least $14.8 million from clients. The Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) imposed the ban on June 12, 2025.
Between March 2022 and June 2023, Rogan misled clients by falsely claiming their funds were being invested in secure fixed-interest accounts. Instead, the money was funneled into high-risk cryptocurrency schemes through ''Financial Centre,'' a UK-based platform already flagged by ASIC as untrustworthy. Rogan operated as an authorized representative of Private Wealth Pty Ltd and Fincare group companies during the fraudulent activities.
ASIC''s investigation into Rogan''s conduct continues, and she retains the right to appeal the decision. The case underscores the regulatory challenges posed by cryptocurrency scams and the importance of investor vigilance.
